Kate Boylan-Ascione is a Cairns-based creative producer dedicated to telling stories with genuine impact and social strategy. After completing a Bachelors of Film and Screen Media Production and working in diverse roles across the film industry, Kate received the Lord David Puttnam Scholarship for Producers in and completed a Research Masters of Advanced Screen Production majoring in creative impact producing in 2022. Kate's work spans across short films, documentaries, music videos and TVCS. Since completing her post-grad, she has worked as a production manager at award-winning production company, Two Little Films, and freelanced as a creative producer and first assistant director. She is currently in post-production for her debut feature documentary, 'Let Them Hug', that follows a Somali family's fight to be reunited and a group of 20-somethings that build a nationwide movement around them. Key producing credits include ‘The Butterfly Effect’ (2019), 'Spiritual Farm' (2019), ‘Maude and Gordon at the End of the World’ (2021) and Pause (2021).
